1942年欧洲卷起纳粹浪潮 ，法国亦不能幸免，巴黎有过万名犹太人被警察拘捕送往集中营，孩子被迫与父母分离，部份更被分批屠杀。11岁的犹太少女莎拉 与家人亦难逃一劫，为保护弟弟，她将弟弟锁在房间小秘室中免被警察拘捕。最终莎拉与家人被送往集中营，可是她一直紧握着小秘室的钥匙，希望有日可逃回家拯救弟弟。。Birdcatcher Esmar and his wife Johanna face eviction from their farm in Gásadalur unless they have a son. Desperation sets in when Johanna gives birth to their third daughter. Pushed to the brink, Johanna is impregnated by another man, a French Captain, and gives birth to a son, known as ‘the birdcatcher’s son’. Everything seems perfect until the French Captain returns.。
