昔懐かしいオモチャのベーゴマを進化させた、新しいタイプのベーゴマ“ベイブレード”で、世界大会をめざす少年たちの姿を描いた熱血スポコンアニメ。作品中に登場するベイブレードと同じオモチャが発売され、子どもたちの定番オモチャとなった。原作は『月刊コロコロコミック』に青木たかおが連載している同名マンガ。“ベイバトル”とは、ベイスタジアムで行われる勝ち抜きベイブレード大会のこと。主人公タカオはそのベイバトルに夢中になっているひとりだ。ある日、試合に向かっていたタカオは、カイという強敵に出会う。カイは謎の力を秘めたベイブレードを求めており、ベイブレードの研究をしているタカオの友だちを強引に連れ去ってしまう。友だちを救出するために、タカオはカイのベイ“ドランザー”と対決することを決意！ すると、制作中だったタカオのベイに、なんと“ビット（聖獣）”の“青龍”が宿り…!?。A group of rogues steal a scroll granting its bearer the property of the land of Aurocastro in Apulia (south of Italy). They elect a shaggy knight, Brancaleone from Norcia, as their leader, and decide to get possession of this supposedly wealthy land.
