The film tells the story of the Jews of Bardejov in Slovakia, who were almost completely wiped out during the Holocaust. Among them was Holocaust survivor Emil A. Fish, who was 9 years old when a Gestapo officer found him and his family hiding and sent them to a concentration camp to suffer the same fate as their many friends and relatives. Fish survived but to this day no Jews...。故事设定在上世纪五十年代末期，Maria Casadevall在剧中扮演富有、忠诚的Maria Luiza，生活中一切事情都依靠丈夫和父亲。她和丈夫一起从圣保罗来到里约热内卢开饭店，可是她的丈夫抛弃了她，带着所有的钱不知所踪。Maria一开始感到绝望，后来心情逐渐平复。在巴萨诺瓦舞刚刚兴盛的那个时代，Maria很快有了新的梦想——独自留在里约创办一家巴萨诺瓦舞蹈俱乐部。一向严厉的父亲对Maria的决定颇感不悦，虽然这件事的确有些不明智，但Maria还是坚持了自己的决定。她既受到激情的驱策，也受到三个坚持女权主义和自由主义的新朋友的影响——意志坚定、个性顽强、土生土长的里约黑人Adélia（Pathy Dejesus），拥有完美嗓音的童年好友Lígia（Fernanda Vasconcellos），还有现代派的独自作家Thereza（Mel Lisbo...。故事发生在19世纪，主人公是11岁，小名为“Wash”的George Washington Black。他从小在巴巴多斯一处甘蔗种植园长大，但在某次令人震惊的死亡威胁后，意识到自己必须逃离，才能活下去。。
