本篇第28话（2004年8月8日放映）~第32话（2004年9月12日）的正编结束后（一部分地区除外）播出的短片，是剧场版的前日谈。描述了志村等新生代骑士相遇的过程。进队不久的缉毒警成杰在抓捕毒贩时被咬疑似感染艾滋病，队长刘云飞接到通知江城会有一场大的毒品交易。在抓捕毒贩破除成杰感染艾滋病同时，嫌疑人于长蒲进入警方视线。经查于长蒲只是被利用，而幕后毒枭是矿主杨江。。Morse finds himself the subject of a murder investigation when his friend, Beryl Newsome, is murdered at a rehearsal of the Magic Flute and he foolishly touches the murder weapon. Morse is suspended and DCI Bottomley, with DS Lewis assisting him, is put in charge of the case.
