以报社为背景的喜剧，由三十年代的四大巨星威廉．鲍华、莫娜．罗拉、斯潘塞．特蕾西、琪恩．哈洛联手主演，故事描述报社编辑利用他的未婚妻和前任记者去调查一名脾气暴燥的女继承人到底继承了多少财产，不料计划走了样，竟然导致女继承人控告报社犯了诽谤罪，社方也打算加以还击，搞得好不热闹。全片剧情峰回路转，从头至尾的发展都捉住观众的注意力，导演杰克．康威尔也拍得流畅而紧凑，让四位大明星都有大展演技的机会，因而制造出相当高的喜趣效果。。Whitney (Wagner) owns Marietta Designs, an interior design firm which she runs with her friend, Andi (Tegan Moss).
