國際保障未成年少男少女身心健康發展協會會員Dr.K (譚耀文) 質疑司徒老闆（林敏聰) 舉辦的選秀活動「新星產線」利用年輕人追夢的心理，從中榨壓勒索，嚴重危害大批青少年身心發展，然而協會目前面臨營運困難，只好將貨就價重新聘用被革職的問題會員雷紫荊（盧瀚霆) 協助調查，意外令娛樂記者夏日葵（蘇皓兒）、九線歌手白百合（李靜儀）及解救堂妹元萱（陳紫萱）的元螢（李炘頣）組成假冒女團參賽⋯。根据上海越剧院演出本改编。明代吏部尚书李廷甫之女李秀英，聪明贤惠，容貌秀丽，父母爱若珍宝。秀英年已及笄，尚待字闺中。李廷甫50寿诞之日，好友王裕夫妇偕子玉林前来祝寿。李廷甫见玉林品貌端庄，仪表不俗，有意试试他的才华，就叫他题写寿联一副。玉林即席挥毫，顺手而成。李廷甫大喜，就以秀英许配为妻。李秀英的表兄顾文友，原有娶秀英之心，今见她被许配王玉林，心中恼恨，遂与孙媒婆密谋定下奸计。。Imagine growing up in a Soho loft in the late 1970s and falling asleep to the sounds of your mother wielding a chainsaw in the next room.
