Plebs follows three desperate young men from the suburbs...。故事发生在二十世纪三十年代初期，莉莲（简·方达 Jane Fonda 饰）前往维也纳寻找自己曾经的好友茱莉亚（瓦妮莎·雷德格瑞夫 Vanessa Redgrave 饰），到达目的地之后，莉莲才知道，茱莉亚因为和法西斯支持者发生了激烈冲突而受伤住进了医院，之后不知所踪。 在莉莲回归自己的生活之后，她意外的收到了茱莉亚的来信，在信中，茱莉亚请求莉莲帮助自己投运五万美元给反纳粹组织，尽管这一举动在当时意味着巨大的危险，但是莉莲还是答应了茱莉亚，最终，两个多年未见的好友在柏林重逢。然而，没过多久，莉莲便受到了茱莉亚的死讯，在悲痛之中，莉莲明白，自己还有未完成的任务。。年轻的共产党员崔景岳，为解放宁夏，与敌人做顽强的斗争。在被捕入狱的日子里，仍然积极开展工作。监狱中，崔景岳教育和组织同志们坚持长期的狱中斗争，成立狱中党支部。最终被敌人杀害。。
